Getting to know Alisa Adams

I am here to support you with the challenges that you are experiencing at this time. I will guide you through the use of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, mindfulness techniques, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and other creative approaches that I gained in my Counseling and Art Therapy graduate program at the University of Illinois at Chicago. For 20 years, I have worked with families and adults individually and in groups in a variety of settings: including day treatment and residential treatment programs, a children's hospital, corrections, community mental health, schools, and home-based treatment. I provide trauma-informed care and address issues surrounding anxiety, depression, grief and loss, relationships, parenting, life transitions, domestic abuse, and healthy coping skills. I am client-centered and strengths-based and aim to guide my clients to empower themselves in their own lives.
