As a first timer at this practice I must say I was very pleased. I didn’t feel uncomfortable at all and there wasn’t a wait time. The only thing I would say needs improvement is the time limit of the session (in a good way ??). That’s how great my experience was and I highly recommend giving them a try.

I had a very good, helpful first session with Dr. Silver and she was very supportive and gave me good exercises. Then the second time I met with her, I told her I thought I had anxiety attacks and how I handled them. She immediately shut me down saying, “no you wouldn’t be able to stop it if it was an actual panic attack.” She told me, “sometimes we don’t need therapy, maybe just you don’t need therapy.” I was so taken aback when she said that, and I of course didn’t want to continue after she told me I didn’t need to, so I just said oh ok and we ended the session very short. I couldn’t believe how different that session was from our first and that a therapist had said those things and been so dismissive during what was my first time trying therapy. After that, I decided not to see Dr. Silver anymore, but I still had a difficult experience with the office as I continued to get charged copays and no show fees months later, and I had to email and call them to get it all resolved.

She was friendly, clear and concise with her questions and answers. And very understanding when background noise happened during the call.

Alison is really helping me work through some deep, and often confusing emotions. By suggesting relevent reading material, assigning simple yet effective tasks to complete, and also pointing out some of my blindspots, I am becoming more centered with each session.
Allison has been a great therapist in my journey and regularly encourages me and challenges me to think and work through my problem. I appreciate that she uses books (reading assignments) to give me practical real world tools to use outside of therapy that actually have an impact on my life. During the time I have been seeing Allison I have made progress and am excited to continue to do so. She is great at being non-biased and helping me to see all sides of an issue. It's also a huge benefit to have a black female therapist who can understand me. I highly recommend Allison to anyone.
I’ve been seeing Dr. Silver for a little over 2 months, and she’s been amazing. She’s a great listener, but also knows how to gently push you to open up a bit more. She’s been very patient and is great at giving you actionable goals to work towards. If you’re serious about wanting to better yourself mentally, Dr. Silver is the perfect person to work with.
Alison is a great listener, empathetic, and gives advice without being non-biased. Alison has helped me figure out the path forward.
Alison is wonderful. This is my first experience with therapy and she offers a safe place for me to voice my emotions while offering questions that pose introspective reflection. She is able to break down how our brain functions and the emotions that go along with it -- allowing an understanding of me that I have not had before. I highly recommend Alison, especially for anyone who is BIPOC who may have issues surrounding their cultural upbringing.
Finding a therapist you can quickly build an open and honest relationship is hard but with Alison it’s effortless. She not only listens to your words but works with you to find the root of your obstacles and work with you to overcome them. She provides you with tools necessary to do that as well. Look forward to our calls each week!
Alison is great! It’s hard to find a therapist that you can quickly build an open and honest relationship with but it was effortless with Alison! She does more than listen, she also helps you understand the root of your obstacles and how you can overcome them.
On my first visit, my introduction, Alison Silver was very easy to talk to and guided the conversation with questions that allowed me to express myself without reservation. She was extremely professional and friendly and took detailed notes while actively listening. Since then I have continued to see her for therapy on a weekly basis and find that she is not pushy but always has a gem to leave our sessions with so that I am always working on my personal growth, goals and healing. I would and have recommended her to loved ones and close friends and hope to continue my journey with her.
I truly enjoyed meeting with Alison! She is very attentive to my concerns and has given me a lot of helpful exercises as well!
I have truly enjoyed working with Alison. I think she challenges me to think deeper about my emotions. I look forward our sessions because I feel like I learn something more about myself each time. I wish I met her sooner!
Alison is very warm, kind, and understanding. I look forward to our sessions because they are a mix of listening and learning. She passes on her expertise in addiction in a way that's very digestible, and can apply specifics to my personal experiences and stories. I leave the sessions feeling like I can take on the tough times and understand them from another angle. It would be helpful if Alison was more prompting at times so that I am challenged to think and dig deeper into certain situations.
Alison is great at giving real actionable advice in response to whatever I'm dealing with each session. It feels so nice to log off and have something concrete to work with!
Alison is thoughtful in her approach. She listens well and is delicate yet clear in her views which I appreciate. We only started working together recently but so far so good. I would recommend her for sure.
I can't say enough excellent things about Alison - she is a fantastic listener and has picked up on things that I never would have put together. She has challenged me to make huge strides in my therapy in just a few weeks. I find that I am much more motivated to work on myself throughout the week than I have been with past therapists, because what she assigns really works. I can't recommend her enough.
Alison is an incredible therapist. She takes the time to really listen and connect with you, and is amazing at helping you work through whatever might be on your mind. I cannot recommend her enough.
My initial intake appointment was great. Alison made me felt heard and reassured in my feelings and concerns. I'm looking forward to working with her more.
For me, Alison brings the right blend of kindness, warmth, and no-nonsense. It's hard for me to be vulnerable with people so it's a testament to her skill that she got me to a place where I can share things and feel safe doing so - pretty much from the first session. I see now why people say it's important to find the right therapist for you - it makes a world of difference and I'm super thankful to be working with Alison.
Alison is a wonderful therapist. She is very attentive of where we are in my progress, and also provides strategies that can be used both in short term and long term. She really knows what she's talking about-- sometimes I am not yet clear on an issue I want to discuss, and she's knowledgeable on how to suss it out. It is also explained in a way that makes sense and feel more tangible to me. On top of her ability, she is a kind person to work with. I highly recommend Alison for mental health counseling and therapy.
Alison is wonderful. It's like chatting with a friend, but someone with a degree in knowing how to help people. I really like her approach and it really speaks to me as a person.
Allison provides me with a safe and responsive virtual space each time we meet. She gives me tangible things to do in order to help me meet my goals. She has a warm demeanor and her years of experience show up in the ways she helps me connect my experiences in the past to the present. I leave our sessions ready to tackle my challenges no matter how heavy the topics.
Dr. Alison is very caring and open minded. She listens to what you have to say and challenges your own preconceived notions. Would highly highly recommend :)
I'm so grateful to have Alison as my therapist! Our discussions have been very enlightening to me and I feel like I've already made strides with her in a short amount of time than I've done for years with another therapist. She's helping me understand who I am, where my anxiety and depression stem from, as well as working on my emotional and social maturity. Thank you so much Alison!
