Getting to know Aliyah Busgith

I believe in the power of rewriting our internal narratives to foster self-compassion, authenticity, and meaningful change. I strive to create a warm, empathic space where clients feel truly seen, heard, and supported. I trust in each person’s innate capacity to grow and walk alongside them on their path toward greater clarity and connection. Whether you're exploring your identity, healing from past wounds, or seeking healthier relationships, I offer thoughtful, personalized support grounded in deep respect for your story.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I work with a diverse group of individuals across cultural, racial, and social identities, including those navigating minority stress, racial identity development, intergenerational trauma, and the unique burdens often experienced by people of color in the face of systemic inequities and questions of belonging. At the center of our work is your story. I approach therapy with deep respect for your lived experience, your identities, and the meanings you’ve made along the way. Identity and relational work are central to my practice, and we move at a pace that honors your comfort and readiness, building a strong therapeutic relationship where you can explore your narrative safely, openly, and authentically.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

My approach integrates psychodynamic and attachment-based frameworks with Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and I draw from Internal Family Systems (IFS)-informed perspectives. Together, we explore the roots of your struggles within the context of your relationships, cultural background, and personal history, while also developing practical tools for emotional regulation and relational growth. I incorporate multicultural theory to thoughtfully attend to the systemic and identity-based factors that shape your experiences, supporting insight, self-compassion, and meaningful, lasting change.
