My educational background includes a Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice from Hilbert College in New York, a Master's degree in Social Work from California State University Long Beach, and a Doctorate degree in Forensic Psychology (PsyD) from Alliant International University in California. Additionally, I am a certified EMDR therapist through EMDRIA, a professional association for EMDR practitioners and researchers that upholds the highest standards for clinical use of EMDR. I have also been trained in Prolonged Exposure therapy by The Center for Deployment Psychology. In addition to my trainings and certifications in psychological treatment modalities, I am a certified Hatha yoga instructor and a Master Reiki practitioner. I have worked in a variety of treatment settings, including crisis emergency services with the University of North Carolina. Most recently, for the past ten years, I have been a contract psychologist with the Department of Defense (DOD). Having been on the receiving end of both exceptional and subpar care, I am dedicated to providing only the most competent and effective psychological services. My approach The primary psychological treatment modality I utilize is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR). EMDR therapy facilitates accessing and processing traumatic memories and other adverse life experiences to bring these to an adaptive resolution. After successful treatment with EMDR, affective distress is relieved, negative beliefs are reformulated, and physiological arousal is reduced. My focus I work primarily with adults aged 18 and older. While I treat a range of concerns such as anxiety and depression, my main focus is trauma.
