What should a new client know about working with you?

DISCLAIMER: We are not able to accept Medicare or Medicaid plans at this time. My path to becoming a therapist began in a hospital setting, working alongside people living with serious illness. Witnessing how illness affected patients' emotional health, their family relationships, and their understanding of their own care had a profound impact on me. Watching people from different cultural backgrounds seek emotional support during some of the most stressful moments of their lives — and exploring what kinds of services were available to them — deepened my commitment to culturally responsive mental health care. These experiences are the foundation of how I practice today. I bring an awareness of cultural differences and a genuine focus on each person's unique perspective and preferences to every session, tailoring treatment to what matters most to you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I believe in treating the whole person from a biopsychosocial and mind-body-spirit perspective. That means taking into account your identity, culture, beliefs, purpose, relationships, and environment, not just the presenting concern. My approach is evidence-based, insight-driven, and solution-focused, built around helping you find meaning in adversity and apply new skills to improve your health, well-being, and quality of life. Together, we'll gain awareness of your unique strengths and use them to better understand your circumstances. From there, we'll co-create goals and plans for facing challenges with clarity and a greater sense of ease. To support that work, I draw on a blend of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, solution-focused, trauma-informed, culturally responsive, identity-affirming, and psychodynamic approaches. Throughout it all, you can expect a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where the direction of care is always shaped by your needs.
