Is life challenging you? Your responsibilities feeling too much lately? Want to learn ways to manage and feel more confident in your everyday life? I'm Amanda and I'm here to help. I am a very laid-back therapist who listens and starts where you're at. I have worked in the field of therapy and social work for about 16 or so years. I have specialized in working with adults, older adults, substance abuse treatment, those deemed seriously mentally ill, Native American communities, and in integrated health care. In the past year I have started working more with children, teens, and in maternal health and I have been loving it. In therapy I specialize in cognitive behavioral therapy, holistic, and solution focused therapy. I want you to walk away from therapy feeling empowered with tools in your belt. I'm born and raised in Arizona, Navajo/Dine' who grew up on the Navajo Nation and also speak our language. I completed all my higher education in the mid-west. I attended Haskell Indian Nations University and the University of Kansas for my Bachelors in Social Work and received my Masters of Social Work at the Brown School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis. I'm a mother to 4 beautiful children and a partner to wonderful man. We have a shy tuxedo cat who loves snuggles and likes to fetch. On my down time I love to read (my goal in 2025 is to read 30 books) and travel when I can. Knowing we have the power within ourselves to transform not only ourselves, but entire communities has transformed the way I think about social work. Breaking generation cycles no matter what age you are, self love, self care, and healing from trauma are all things that inspired me to be a therapist. When we heal ourselves, our ancestors smile down on us and we in turn can change future generations. If you were born with the weakness to fall, you were born with the strength to rise ~ Rupi Kaur
