Getting to know Amber Latimore

My name is Amber Latimore. I am a Master's level student in Professional Counseling at Post University and a published author. I have experience working in education as a special education teacher and in the private sector as a behavior consultant for families with children on the spectrum. My most recent experience is in the mental health field, working with individuals of all ages who have mood and anxiety disorders. I hold a master's degree in psychology with a concentration in Applied Behavior Analysis and am a certified autism specialist. My diverse range of experiences, from autism to mental health issues, has prepared me to work with a multitude of mood and behavior disorders. I have over 10 years of experience working in the autism field and almost 2 years working professionally in mental health. My goal is to listen, encourage, and help individuals navigate difficult events and transitions in their lives. Some treatment approaches I like to use include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Positive Psychotherapy. The age range I prefer to work with includes children, preteens, teens, and adults. The communities I would like to serve are single mothers, special needs families, and working professionals.
