Getting to know Amber-Rose Marmol

I’m Amber-Rose Marmol, an LMHC and certified hypnotherapist who has spent the past several years guiding teens, adults, couples, and families through the tangled terrain of anxiety, PTSD, OCD, and the echoes of unresolved trauma. My clinical roots stretch from neurofeedback clinics to fully virtual private practice, and are nourished by an M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Saybrook University and advanced training in hypnotherapy, mindfulness-based stress reduction, and somatic healing. I weave Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Jungian-inspired depth work into a trauma-informed framework that honors both mind and body. Whether you’re wrestling with relationship ruptures, identity shifts, or the quiet ache of grief, my mission is to offer a brave, judgment-free space where overthinkers, people-pleasers, and grief-holders can reclaim self-trust and agency. Therapy with me is as flexible as your lived experience—sometimes reflective and narrative, sometimes experiential and embodied—but always anchored in compassion, cultural humility, and your innate capacity to heal. I provide secure telehealth sessions to clients across New York, welcoming traditional, non-traditional, LGBTQIA+, and poly/kink-affirming partnerships.

What should a new client know about working with you?

From our first email or phone call you will notice a collaborative, down-to-earth tone. I value transparency: you’ll understand why we choose a particular technique—be it breath-led hypnotherapy, DBT emotion-regulation skills, or somatic grounding—and how it serves your goals. Expect equal measures of warmth and honest feedback; I will cheer your victories and gently challenge patterns that no longer serve you. Sessions are paced to your nervous system, and consent is an ongoing conversation. You set the agenda, and your cultural context, pronouns, and relationship structure are respected without question. Between meetings, you may receive brief mindfulness recordings or journaling prompts to deepen insight and keep momentum. Clients often share that our work is the first place they’ve felt truly seen—an honor I hold with great care.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our journey begins with a comprehensive intake—two sessions devoted to mapping your history, strengths, and hopes. Together we translate those hopes into actionable, measurable goals and agree on a cadence that fits your life, usually weekly sixty-minute video sessions. Each meeting follows a flexible structure: check-in and mindful grounding, focused therapeutic work (e.g., ACT values clarification, inner-child visualization, or trauma-focused CBT), skills rehearsal or somatic release, and a recap with take-home practices. Progress is tracked through your feedback, brief standardized measures, and periodic goal reviews. Should new challenges surface—sleep disruption, relational conflict, intrusive memories—we adapt swiftly, sometimes integrating family sessions or coordinating with medical providers. As therapy winds down, we co-create a resilience plan: rituals and resources that safeguard your gains and support future growth. My role is guide and collaborator, walking beside you as you reclaim peace, voice, and power.

I've just had my third session with Amber-Rose and continue to be so very impressed with her compassion, knowledge, and gentle guidance. What a gem!
She was nice but she showed up almost 10 minutes late to our first session. I rearranged my schedule for our second session and after waiting almost 15 minutes for the session to start, she did not respond to my messages inquiring about the delay and she ended up being a no show. This is not only inconvenient it is also very disappointing. Timeliness should be taken seriously especially when mental health is at play.
