Psychotherapist
6238 Montrose Rd, Rockville, MD
Are you trying to manage conflicting feelings, difficulty with relationships, trauma, grief, or daily challenges? A relationship with a skilled therapist can be a great place to explore these challenges and improve your quality of life. I work with children, adolescents, and young adults facing struggles—some small, some big. Whether you’re seeking therapy for yourself or your child, I tailor our work to fit your needs. I have experience with kids from elementary to college age, in both school settings and private practice. I specialize in trauma, grief and loss, anxiety, and relationship and identity issues. Children and young adults face many challenges from their family of origin, questioning identity, and becoming fulfilled adults. Our work centers on helping clients understand their feelings, thoughts, and how these impact everyday choices. My approach is based on Internal Family Systems (“Parts Work”), which views us as made up of dynamic, caring parts. Trauma can cause some parts to adopt extreme roles to protect us, which later need help letting go of past experiences. IFS provides space and tools to approach parts with curiosity, gain insight into their formation and roles in beliefs, actions, and relationships, and ultimately heal. I also use Trauma-Informed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Relational Therapy, and Mindfulness. For younger or creatively inclined clients, I include play and art therapy. I hold a Master’s in Social Work from the Catholic University of America, equipping me with a strong foundation to support clients with compassion and expertise.
