Amy Fox, LPC

Psychotherapist
CO
Hello, I'm Amy. My role as a therapist is not to provide you with the “right” answers, but to create a space that is safe and empowering for you to discover your own answers and power. Walking alongside my clients and witnessing their stories and resilience is an amazing thing, and we are all resilient! I particularly believe that trauma doesn’t have to define who we are or how we function, but can be processed and integrated in a way to make it just one part of our story and identity. In 2008, I graduated from the University of Dayton with a Master’s degree in Community Counseling. After working in community-based mental health with child and adolescent sexual abuse survivors in Ohio for several years, I moved across the country and became a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Colorado. Since 2018, I’ve been working with adolescents who have experienced complex trauma in Denver. Prior to completing my Master’s degree, I worked as a social worker with families in relational crisis. While PTSD, complex trauma, and adolescents are my primary focus, I also enjoy working with young adults and women to address issues of anxiety, depression, parenting, and life transitions. I am trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and feel it is an incredible tool for reprocessing traumatic experiences. I also use a mix of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), attachment therapy, and client-centered work, with the freedom to adjust my approach to your specific needs. If you’re ready to start your journey towards healing and self-discovery, I’m here to walk with you every step of the way.
