Getting to know Amy Halter

I provide a thoughtful and empathetic space to discuss your complex belief systems and whatever is causing you pain in the moment. Whether you are highly goal-focused or want a space to process difficult emotions, I can accommodate your needs. I enjoy working with all types of clients, from all backgrounds, races, genders, orientations, and other intersecting identities. I hold a Master's in Clinical Social Work from the University of Washington, which informs my compassionate and client-centered approach.

What should a new client know about working with you?

My expertise is in the treatment of PTSD, Depression and Anxiety, but I have experience with all types of mental health disorders. The focus of my treatment is steer the focus away from pathology of symptoms and to help you build a sense of self-acceptance and self-compassion.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I am happy to provide a brief initial consult to see if it's a good fit. I adjust my therapy style based on the client's needs, and I prefer a collaborative approach. Some clients prefer a more structured style of treatment whereas others do not know exactly what they are looking for. I am happy to accomodate all types of needs, and can act as a guide while we figure out treatment goals and how to move forward.
