Ana Rosado, LSW

Ana Rosado, LSW

Psychotherapist
NJ
I provide bilingual therapy in English and Spanish for adults, with a special focus on parents and caregivers of loved ones with disabilities, complex needs, chronic illnesses, and medical conditions. You may spend so much time advocating, managing appointments, worrying about the future, and caring for everyone else that your own needs get pushed aside. You can love the person you care for deeply and still feel exhausted, anxious, overwhelmed, or guilty for needing a break. I support caregivers with burnout, anxiety, boundaries, guilt, and the identity changes that can come with caregiving. My approach is warm, culturally responsive, and strengths-based, incorporating CBT, ACT, solution-focused strategies, and mindfulness.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You don't need to come to therapy knowing exactly what to say or what needs to change. I want therapy to be a space where you can be honest about what you're experiencing, even the feelings that may be difficult to admit to the people you love. We'll focus on what your life actually looks like, not simply tell you to “practice self-care.” Together, we can work on managing overwhelm, setting boundaries, making room for your needs, and reconnecting with yourself. You spend so much time being strong for everyone else. Therapy can be a place where you don’t always have to be the strong one.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We'll begin by getting to know you, what you're carrying, and what you want to feel different. Together, we'll identify meaningful and realistic goals based on your needs. I may incorporate CBT, ACT, solution-focused strategies, and mindfulness to help you manage stress and anxiety, navigate difficult emotions, develop healthier boundaries, and feel more confident in your decisions. We'll regularly check in on what's helping and adjust as needed. The goal isn't to make therapy another responsibility. The goal it's to help the life you're already carrying feel more manageable.
