Anastasiya Vladychack, LMHC

Psychotherapist
NY
Hi there, I'm Anastasiya! I moved to the US when I was nine years old. Without knowing the language, I struggled with making connections, which led me to experience depression. In my culture and family, depression "doesn't exist," and I often felt isolated and ostracized by my own family. Once I pulled myself out of that depressive state, I knew I wanted to focus on helping others who are or were in a similar situation. I earned my Master's in Mental Health Counseling from the State University of New York, Old Westbury, which has equipped me with the skills to support my clients effectively. My approach is centered on ensuring my clients feel safe, understood, and heard. The modality of sessions depends on what the client is struggling with. For example, if childhood trauma is involved, I might use a psychodynamic approach to explore the roots of emotional suffering. If anxiety is the focus, I may incorporate CBT techniques and assign homework. I also strive to incorporate holistic therapy, recognizing that mind, body, and soul work together to achieve balance in all aspects of life. I typically work with adults facing anxiety, depression, life transitions, personal growth, self-esteem, relationships, and LGBTQIA+ issues. In the beginning sessions, I focus on gathering information, allowing the client to do most of the talking. As rapport builds, I may challenge clients and their belief systems when needed to encourage growth and healing.
