“Anaya creates a space that makes me feel heard and safe. She’s warm and easy to talk to, and I don’t feel judged, which makes it easier to actually be open and honest. I feel like she really cares about me, and that makes a big difference. She remembers things I’ve said, brings them back up later, and helps me see patterns I wouldn’t have noticed on my own. She also challenges me, but in a way that feels thoughtful and not overwhelming. Before working with her, I honestly thought emotions were kind of pointless and something to ignore. She’s helped me see that they actually tell me something important, which has changed how I understand myself. She’s also helped me realize how much neglecting my relationship with myself was affecting different areas of my life. I’m starting to build more trust with myself and understand what I actually need, which has made it easier to handle things when I’m struggling instead of feeling stuck. ”

“Working with Anaya over the past year and a half has helped me connect with myself in a way I hadn’t been able to before. I came into therapy with a lot of anxiety and a tendency to overthink everything, and while I had insight, I still felt stuck. Anaya helped me move beyond just understanding my experiences intellectually and actually begin to feel and process them. She creates a space that feels safe enough to be honest, while also gently pushing me to look at things I would normally avoid. One of the biggest shifts for me has been in my relationships. I’m more aware of my needs, more able to express myself, and less caught in old patterns. What I appreciate most is that she shows up as a real person. I feel like there’s a genuine connection between us, which makes it easier to be vulnerable and do deeper work. Over time, I’ve built a stronger sense of trust in myself, which is something I didn’t have before starting therapy.”

Getting to know Anaya Morrison

Welcome, I am Anaya! Many people who reach out to me are navigating something that feels heavy — anxiety that won’t quiet down, depression that lingers, relationship patterns that repeat, or the lasting imprint of trauma on the body and nervous system. From the outside your life might look “fine,” but internally you feel overwhelmed, stuck, emotionally exhausted, or disconnected from yourself. As a Black woman therapist who is sex-positive, LGBTQ+ affirming, and affirming of polyamory and consensual non-monogamy, I create a space where you can show up fully.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Therapy is a space where we slow things down and begin getting to know you more deeply — your emotions, your body, your needs, your attachment patterns, and the younger parts of you that learned how to survive. A lot of my work centers on attachment, trauma, and inner child healing. Together, we explore how early experiences shaped you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, and you do not have to have everything figured out before you begin. If you’re ready to feel more connected to yourself, more emotionally steady, and less alone in what you carry, I invite you to reach out.
