Getting to know Andrea Rosenhaft

*After booking, you will receive a link via IntakeQ so you can complete required intake forms prior to your appointment.* As a licensed clinical social worker with a Master's in Social Work from Fordham University and twenty-four years of experience in outpatient mental health, I am here to help you reach your goals and build a life worth living. My work primarily focuses on treating depression, eating disorders, borderline personality disorder (BPD), and the unique challenges faced by older adults. What should a new client know about working with you?

If you’re dealing with BPD or BPD traits, I use dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) techniques to introduce and reinforce practical skills for emotional regulation and relationship-building. I provide long-term support and work with you consistently so you have the space and guidance you need to make real, lasting progress. For those experiencing depression or eating disorders, I tailor treatment based on your unique needs, combining insight-oriented techniques with skills-based therapies like DBT and CBT and, if it feels right for you, mindfulness and narrative therapy. My approach is adaptive, and we’ll work together to discover what resonates and brings the most value to your life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

When you come into a session, expect a space that prioritizes your comfort and respects your pace. The process is collaborative: we’ll explore your thoughts and feelings, discuss practical tools, and delve into underlying issues to foster both immediate relief and deep-seated growth. Each session offers a chance for you to share openly and find validation for your experiences. If you’re navigating later-life challenges, I’ll support you in making peace with changes, from retirement and caregiving to grief and self-compassion. Therapy is not one-size-fits-all, and together, we’ll build a therapeutic approach that feels personal, impactful, and aligned with your goals. Seeking therapy is a big step, and it’s natural to take time to find the right fit. I encourage you to be open and direct, as a strong therapeutic alliance is vital for meaningful progress. Real growth comes with honesty, engagement, and the trust that your therapist is there for you without judgment.
