Getting to know Angela Hastings

I'm so glad you're here! I am a social worker licensed in Michigan with 12 years of experience in the clinical field. I graduated in 2013 from Grand Valley with my master's in social work. In that time, I have worked with clients to addresses crisis intervention, life transitions, and chronic anxiety and depression. My areas of passion also includes crisis of faith, body image, self-harm, and eating disorders. My counseling style is warm, interactive, and dynamic. I see my role primarily of that of a mentor and coach. I believe counseling is best done with a positive relationship and unconditional compassion. I strive to meet clients where they’re at in terms of faith and relationships. I focus on client centered therapy with clients setting the goals and pace of our sessions. I firmly believe clients know themselves best, and I am coming alongside to support the journey! My counseling style tends to be a bit eclectic, and I take from solution focused, CBT, DBT, and motivational interviewing models. It takes a lot of personal strength to reach out for help! I look forward to getting to know you and working with you.
