Dr. Anica Mulzac, PsyD

Psychotherapist
NY
Hi, I'm Dr. Anica, a licensed clinical psychologist with over a decade of experience. I work with adults of all ages, including executive coaching clients, as they navigate life transitions, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, race-based issues, and disordered eating, among other concerns. My work is grounded in the belief that you are the expert on you, and I would be honored to help you explore the root causes of your concerns in a space where you feel heard, respected, and supported. My approach is collaborative and holistic. I draw from modalities including CBT, DBT, ACT, Family Systems, and others, tailoring our work to you rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method, so we can determine clear paths forward and improve your quality of life. I hold a doctorate in clinical psychology from Regent University, and my aim is always a deeper, richer, more holistic quality of care. If you're ready to take that first step, I'd love to connect and work together.

Getting to know Dr. Anica Mulzac

My approach is collaborative and holistic. I hold a doctorate in clinical psychology from Regent University, and my aim is always a deeper, richer, more holistic quality of care. If you're ready to take that first step, I'd love to connect and work together.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I want you to know that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you rather than hand you a set of answers. I bring over a decade of experience working with adults across the lifespan, and I hold space for the full context of who you are, including your culture, identity, relationships, and the experiences that shaped you. Whether you're moving through a major life transition, sitting with anxiety or depression, working through relationship difficulties, or processing race-based stress, you can expect me to be collaborative, direct when it's useful, and genuinely nonjudgmental. Therapy with me is a partnership, and there is no version of you that needs to be cleaned up before you arrive.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We begin with a conversation about what brought you in, your history, and what you're hoping will feel different. From there we set goals together so the work has a clear direction, and I share my clinical impressions openly so you always know what we're working toward and why. As we go, I draw from modalities such as CBT, DBT, ACT, and Family Systems, choosing what fits you rather than fitting you into a single framework, and we explore the root causes underneath the presenting concern. I check in regularly about what's working and what isn't, and we adjust as your needs shift. Progress isn't always linear, and I'd rather recalibrate with you than push a plan that has stopped serving you.
