About Anisha Varghese

Having both her athletic training and physical therapy credentials, Anisha likes to bridge the gap between on field management and off the field rehabilitation. She completed her undergraduate degree at Stony Brook University in Athletic Training, her Doctor of Physical Therapy at Dominican College and completed her MBA in Healthcare Management at Dominican University. Through her educational career she has been part of the athletic training honor society Iota Tau Alpha and earned the prestigious Clinical Excellence Award, given to the graduating physical therapy student who consistently embodies APTA core values, as well as graduating with honors from her MBA program. Learning under great professors and mentors she was motivated to continue to refine her skills in physical therapy. She was able to sit to become a board-certified specialist in orthopedics within 2 years of graduation making her part of 5.5% of the PTs in the US who hold the OCS certification. Anisha works with the outpatient orthopedic population, tactical athletes, and has had experience in the industrial setting. She serves as a clinical instructor to physical therapy students. Anisha has conducted and presented her research in concussion reporting in collegiate athletes and assessment of job demands in police officers and its association to limited flexibility and movement patterns. Having a passion for both Athletic Training and Physical Therapy, Anisha can be found on the sidelines of many sporting events including volunteering with the American Amputee Soccer Association, NYC triathlon, and NYC marathon. Anisha furthers her reach into the community by running CPR classes as a certified lead instructor for healthcare providers and the community. In her free time, she can be caught playing on the swings with her little nieces, dog, family, and friends.
