Psychotherapist
CO
Hello, I'm Ann-Marie. I believe it is important to find the right therapist so you feel like you can be yourself and talk about the challenges you are facing. An essential part of my practice is to build rapport with my clients, so they feel comfortable discussing their problems and the hurtful issues they’ve experienced. I have enjoyed assisting individuals from multiple cultural, educational, and socioeconomic backgrounds who have experienced challenges with grief, anxiety, life transitions, sleep disturbances, mental health, substance misuse, trauma, and domestic violence survivors. I make use of a variety of therapeutic frameworks, including harm reduction, strengths-based, cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), acceptance commitment therapy (ACT), solution-focused brief therapy (SFBT), cognitive processing therapy (CPT), mindfulness-based techniques, and others. My approach with clients is respectful, compassionate, non-judgmental, warm, and relational. I believe the client is the expert about her/their/his life. I gain insight from your thoughts, feelings, and beliefs, and what your body tells you. I encourage self-exploration, self-compassion, harm reduction, and learning new skills. I have lived in Colorado and New Mexico most of my adult life and I love to travel. I am learning Spanish, and I practice a form of Tai Chi. If you feel that we might be a good match, I invite you to reach out and start this journey together.
