Annalise Masten-Muniz, LMHC

Psychotherapist
NY
I like to use cognitive-related approaches, specifically acceptance and commitment therapy, as helpful therapeutic interventions, but I also utilize eclectic approaches based on each individual client’s needs. I find CBT and DBT to be especially helpful with clients. I am passionate about creating an environment in which clients feel safe and accepted. I view my role as a therapist as encouraging while letting clients be the drivers of their own change. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a credentialed alcohol and substance abuse counselor. I obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology from Le Moyne College and a Master of Arts degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Marist College. I have experience working with a variety of populations but have specific passion, training, and experience in working with clients in the LGBTQIA+ community. My previous counseling experience includes working with college students, individuals struggling with addiction, those suffering from significant mental health concerns, families, children, clients who have experienced trauma, and those struggling with anxiety, depression, and eating disorders. I have worked in a variety of settings, including inpatient, outpatient, community-based, private practice, and educational settings. My passion is helping individuals reach a more comfortable place in their lives. I am an avid lover of dogs, crystals, books, and dresses. I love to spend time with my spouse, clean and decorate, and enjoy the occasional Netflix binge.
