Anne Rochon, LMHC

Anne Rochon, LMHC

Psychotherapist
WA
At NW Psychotherapy PLLC, I provide trauma-informed, affirming therapy for adults navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, identity concerns, life transitions, and burnout. I’m a licensed mental health counselor with over a decade of experience, and I believe in meeting people as whole humans — not diagnoses — in a space that is collaborative, respectful, and emotionally safe. My work is grounded in evidence-based approaches, including EMDR for trauma, along with cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based, solution-focused, and expressive techniques. I tailor therapy to each person rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach, with careful attention to pacing, safety, and what feels most supportive for you. NW Psychotherapy PLLC is built on a commitment to LGBTQ+ affirming, body-positive, and culturally responsive care. I offer secure telehealth therapy and aim to help you build clarity, resilience, and a more compassionate relationship with yourself as you move toward meaningful change.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients often tell me I’m warm, thoughtful, and grounded. I work collaboratively and transparently, and I’ll check in with you about what’s helpful and what isn’t. Therapy with me is not about forcing insight or rushing change — it’s about building safety, clarity, and forward movement at a pace that feels sustainable. If we’re doing trauma work, I focus first on stabilization, resourcing, and making sure you have tools before we go anywhere intense. I’m practical and skills-oriented, but I also care deeply about meaning, patterns, and the emotional layers underneath. You don’t have to perform or have things ā€œfigured outā€ to start. You can show up exactly as you are. My job is to help you make sense of what’s happening, reduce suffering, and build a life that feels more workable and more like your own.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We usually start by spending time getting to know each other and understanding what brings you to therapy, what you’ve tried before, and what you’re hoping for. Early sessions focus on building safety, trust, and a shared understanding of your goals. I’ll also help you notice patterns, strengths, and the supports you already have. Sessions are conversational and collaborative. Some days we’ll focus on what’s happening in your life right now; other days we might work more intentionally with skills, resourcing, or trauma-focused approaches like EMDR, if that’s part of your care. I pay close attention to pacing and to what feels manageable for your nervous system. If we’re working with trauma, we don’t rush into processing. We spend time building tools for grounding, regulation, and stability first. Over time, therapy becomes a mix of insight, emotional processing, and practical support, always guided by your goals and what feels most helpful to you.
