“What a breath of fresh air. Anthony was just the right mix of friendly, warm and challenging. He sees things that other therapists in my life have never seen or brought to my attention. He says he uses his relationship in the room with you to help you become aware of the way you interact with and impact people in your life. HELLO, where has this person been all my life? He's also a professor at NYU so he's obviously smart and knows his stuff. Definitely try him or anyone on his staff. I have a bunch of friends who see various people at the Soho Center and everyone loves this place (and I notice changes in all my friends) so I decided to give it a try. I'm glad I did. :)”

Anthony Freire, LMHC, NCC, CCMHC is an Adjunct Professor in Applied Psychology at New York University and is a Board-Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor Licensed by the State Of New York. His is the Co-founder of The Soho Center for Mental Health Counseling in New York City.
Anthony Freire is considered to be the mental health professional equivalent of a primary care physician , treating adults, minors (ages 5-18), couples, families and groups. He received Master's in Mental Health Counseling from NYU, where he is now teaching the next generation of therapists to excel beyond the gold standard of care. He is also a group relations consultant and Trauma informed care expert. He manages/trains/and supervises a large team of counselors waiting to help you become your best self. Anthony's expertise lies in the relationship he forms with you to help you understand how you perceive the world, your role in it, and how others perceive you. All three can be vastly different, and Anthony helps you to reconcile those three things through honesty, compassion, and data that you can use to make decisions around making life changes. Creating a safe place to discover who you are is what helps us examine your feelings and behaviors and make changes so that you can attain the goals you want.
Anthony is currently only one of three therapists in the world helping patients achieve MENTAL FREEDOM using Choice Theory with great success.

Anthony and his team of therapists are fantastic! I've recommended this practice to several of my friends & each of us see a different therapist here, yet we all rant & rave equally about how amazing our therapist is! Caring, compassionate, yet motivational in getting our butts to make changes! Highly recommend skipping the not so great therapists out there & coming here instead. Worth every penny!

Dr. Anthony has been a great help. He's patient, he listens, and has helpful and constructive notes. Coming to Dr. Anthony's office feels less like an appointment and more like entering a safe and welcoming place.
