Aramis Grant, MA

Aramis Grant, MA

Psychotherapist
NY
I’m a therapist who works with adults navigating relationships, identity, and life transitions. Many of my clients come in feeling stuck in patterns—whether in dating, family dynamics, or their sense of self—and are looking for a clearer understanding of how to move forward. My approach is relational and systemic, which means we’ll explore both what’s happening in your life right now and the experiences and patterns that have shaped you over time. I have experience supporting clients with concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, body image, and relationship challenges, as well as race-related stress and identity-based experiences. Before becoming a therapist, I worked in education and leadership, which informs my understanding of burnout, career stress, and the pressure to figure out what’s next. I also bring a unique perspective to dating and relationships through my background in matchmaking and date coaching, helping clients move toward more intentional and aligned connections. My goal is to help you feel more clear, grounded, and connected—to yourself and to your relationships.

What should a new client know about working with you?

Clients often describe my style as engaged, honest, and collaborative. I aim to create a space that feels comfortable and real, where you can show up as you are. I take a directive and reflective approach, meaning I’ll help you notice patterns, challenge unhelpful dynamics, and think through changes you want to make. At the same time, I move at a pace that feels right for you. We’ll work together to build insight into your experiences—whether that’s around relationships, identity, or life transitions—while also focusing on practical ways to apply that insight in your day-to-day life.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

In our early sessions, we’ll focus on getting a clear understanding of what’s bringing you in and what you want to get out of therapy. We’ll explore both current challenges and relevant past experiences, including relationship patterns, family dynamics, and identity-related factors that may be shaping your experiences. From there, our work becomes more collaborative and ongoing. Sessions often involve identifying patterns, processing emotions, and developing more intentional ways of relating—to yourself and to others. Depending on your goals, we may also focus on building coping strategies, improving communication, or navigating specific situations like dating or career transitions. Throughout the process, I aim to balance insight with action—helping you not only understand yourself more deeply, but also make meaningful, sustainable changes in your life.
