I've been seeing Ariel regularly for many years, and I've always felt heard and cared for by him. He's helped me through many difficult times in my life and I don't know how I could've gotten through them without having him to talk to. He treats me with the kind of respect, honesty, and loving kindness that I had always sought in a therapist. I've grown a lot through my conversations with him, and I always look forward to our next conversation!
Ariel makes me feel safe, seen, and capable. I've had plenty of personal and professional moments to celebrate and moments of suffering or strife, and Ariel has been steady, understanding, and thoughtful throughout all of it. I feel that I've been able to grow a lot and Ariel has given me plenty of tools and resources to feel understood, understand myself, and gain a sense of confidence, calm, and stability I may not have had otherwise. Ariel is very accommodating, friendly, professional, smart, and kind. I feel super lucky to have had him as my therapist for many years and counting.
I’ve been through plenty of personal and professional success as well as suffering, and Ariel he has been a steady heartbeat of care helping me process and understand how I feel and what’s in and out of my control along the way. I feel I’ve grown and learned so much from seeing him and I’m forever thankful for his kindness, patience, demeanor, and wisdom. Every now and then he has an analogy or line that just hits me and shifts my whole perception of what I can/can’t do or should/shouldn’t be worrying about in such a helpful way. It feels like I continue to build or obtain new tools on an ongoing basis. These tools plus the record of my past self give me the ability to navigate avoidable pain and make more healthy decisions that bring me joy—and for me that’s fantastic. Wonderful human. Wonderful therapist.
I’ve been seeing Ariel for 2 years - he’s been an incredible resource. I originally sought out a therapist to focus on specific life changes: new city, new relationship, need job. He knows when to simply listen versus engage in dialogue / feedback. We’ve covered a range of topics , and he’s been a blessing as my life. I continue to see him 1x/week and typically go in without a specific agenda. He’s been very flexible on session times when things come up - able to make times for quick zooms if needed. I’d recommend Ariel to anyone looking to peel back on the layers, create awareness, and grow.
He said almost nothing during the appointment to make me comfortable at all, just appeared to be taking a lot of notes. Little to no encouragement or comfort as I talked about several deeply personal things. Just a flippant comment at the end that he'd be happy to continue working with me. I will not be going back.
Kind and attentive. Plan to return.

Dr. Friedman was a kind professional who carefully listened and offered supportive reassurance and guidance to my personal situation. I would highly recommend him as a professional therapist.

Great listener, both supportive and insightful. Calm, relaxing presence which makes it easy to unwind and unload. Offers good advice for professional and personal relationships. We've had a few email exchanges about scheduling conflicts, handled promptly and professionally.
While this review will show my appointment date being in September, 2016, I want to note that this is not an 'old review' as I'm typing this in the summer of 2017. I feel well-equipped to review Ariel's demeanor and the helpful warmth he has brought me over the several months we have worked together on issues I have been living with for well over a decade. Mr Friedman has always been accommodating to changes in my schedule and has been prompt in finding an opening when I've needed it. The thoughtful insight that Ariel brings to every session is something I hope anyone in need of help is able to find during those times in life when help is needed most.
Ariel is very helpful and insightful; he listens intently and provides useful feedback that has helped me process my emotions, work through problems, and become a better person.
Absolutely terrible. Dr. Friedman spoke to me in a condescending way and made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. I've asked multiple occasions to book a follow up and he has ignored my emails. Would highly not recommend wasting your time with this doctor.
I'm a long - time patient of Ariel's, having first visited him in 2002. Over the years his compassionate counsel has been essential in guiding me through major challenges in my life. I can honestly say he's helped me to come a long way in terms of career, relationships and a basic understanding and acceptance of myself. I highly recommed him.
I've been seeing Ariel for a couple of months, now this was my first experience with therapy. His warmth and attentiveness immediately made me feel at ease. He wanted me to clarify early on exactly what my goals were for therapy, which I really appreciated. I have a lot more clarity about things, since I started working with him.
I've been a patient of Ariel Friedman for many years and have found him to be a highly-experienced, empathetic professional, skilled in the art of active listening. He takes a pragmatic approach to treatment of depression and anxiety and created a safe spare for me to discuss and examine issues of deep concern, and has been an enormous help in my goal of living an authentic and happy life.
Ariel has helped me through a number of major life changes during the past few years. He is kind, compassionate, insightful & dependable. I am certain that I would not be as stable and satisfied with my life if I didn't have his reliable support and thoughtfulness.
I consider myself very fortunate to have Ariel as my therapist. During the course of my therapy, Ariel has helped me navigate the most difficult personal and professional challenges of my life. Thanks to him I never felt as if I had to "go it alone". Ariel is compassionate, insightful and extremely intelligent. He also possesses a great sense of humor (which is important to me). I would highly recommend Ariel as a therapist.
I've been with Ariel for many years. I'm fairly hard driving and he helps me to moderate my behavior. He genuinely like people. This is expressed by his warmth, humor, and general sense of encouragement. Out of this comes his kindness, his most defining characteristic. He is a master of what he does.
