Hi there, I'm Arnold! I'm Dr. Arnold Presley, PsyD., a licensed Clinical Psychologist. I am licensed to practice in Tennessee and California. My focus is physical, emotional, and sexual trauma and I utilize Cognitive Therapy and Reality Therapy to enable rapid recovery. My approach I utilize Cognitive Therapy to help my patients evaluate their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in order to modify those thoughts and behaviors to obtain the desired outcome. My focus I work with adults of all ages, as individuals, couples, groups, and families. I believe that no one lives in a vacuum, and dealing with real-world relationships and situations gives quick results. My communication style I associate with my patients as if they were long-time friends and stopped by to see a trusted friend to discuss whatever difficulties they may be having, without concern over privacy, being judged for their thoughts and feelings, and seeing me as a treasure trove of excellent advice on anything that concerns them. My journey to mental healthcare I started as a Military marriage counselor in 1981, working on military deployment/separation concerns. I evolved into a Marriage and Family Therapist by the late 1980's and finally converted to Clinical Psychology by the mid-1990s. I completed my Doctorate in 2005 and have seen patients continually ever since. In 2021 I completed a Post Doctoral Master of Science in Psychopharmacology in preparation for psychologists being given prescriptive authority in all 50 states. My goals for you What changes would you like to see in your life, relationships, jobs, etc. in the next few days, weeks, months and years. What do you think is standing in your way? My first session with you Our first session is a social gathering to get acquainted, discuss areas of concern that the patients may have, and discuss where they want to wind up and how to get there.
