Ashley Kitchen-Sweet, LCMHC

Psychotherapist
VT
Hi, I’m Ashley. If this is your first time considering therapy, it’s completely normal to feel unsure, nervous, or even a little overwhelmed. Many people worry about what to say or whether they’ll be judged. My role is to make therapy feel safe, supportive, and approachable from the very beginning. I offer a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can talk openly and move at a pace that feels comfortable for you. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out—we’ll take things one step at a time. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we’ll work together to identify your strengths, clarify what you’d like to change, and set goals that feel realistic and meaningful to you. I hold a Master of Arts degree and have over ten years of experience as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Massachusetts. I am also a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) in Vermont. I work with adults navigating anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, grief, stress, and relationship or family concerns. Building a trusting relationship is an important part of therapy. I strive to be kind, patient, and understanding, creating a space where you can feel accepted and supported as you work toward your goals. Therapy doesn’t need to be rushed, and it doesn’t have to follow a strict formula—your experience and comfort matter. Taking the first step into therapy can feel like a big decision, and I’m committed to making that transition as smooth and comfortable as possible. If you’re thinking about starting therapy, I’d be happy to connect and see if working together feels like the right fit for you.
