Ashley Rodriguez, LMHC

Psychotherapist
NY
Hello, I’m Dr. Ashley Rodriguez—thank you for stopping by. I’m a licensed psychologist and certified perinatal mental health provider with a practice rooted in relational, trauma-informed care. As a Nuyorican and bicultural therapist, I understand the complexity of holding multiple identities, navigating family expectations, and forging your own path. My mission is to provide culturally responsive, trauma-informed therapy that supports BIPOC and first-generation adults—especially those in the perinatal period or navigating intergenerational trauma. I aim to create a space where you can feel emotionally safe, culturally seen, and supported in healing on your own terms. I’m a relational therapist, which means I believe the connection we build is central to the healing process. I bring warmth, honesty, and compassion to our work, and I strive to create a space where you feel seen and supported while also being gently challenged. I'm collaborative and transparent—I won’t pretend to have all the answers, but I will be fully present with you as we explore what’s getting in the way and what’s possible. I want my clients to feel empowered, affirmed, and equipped to move toward the life they want. I’m deeply invested in your growth and believe that healing happens in relationship—with others and with yourself.

What should a new client know about working with you?

You might be struggling with: Adjusting to the emotional highs and lows of pregnancy or postpartum, and wondering if what you’re feeling is “normal.” Feeling overwhelmed in early parenthood, unsure how to care for yourself while caring for your child. Navigating a major life transition—starting a new role, entering adulthood, or stepping into parenting without a clear guide. Carrying the pressure of being the first in your family to pursue healing, higher education, or a different path. Trying to balance your culture, family expectations, and personal identity, and feeling torn between them. Struggling with anxiety, burnout, or guilt—and unsure where to start when it comes to setting boundaries or asking for help. If any of this feels familiar, you're not alone—and you don’t have to figure it out on your own either. You don’t have to do this alone. Whether you're stepping into new roles, unpacking your past, or finding your way back to yourself—I’m here to help you feel grounded, seen, and supported. It doesn’t have to feel this heavy. I help BIPOC and first-gen adults move through life transitions with more clarity, self-trust, and compassion—especially in the tender seasons of parenting, identity shifts, and intergenerational healing. You don’t have to figure it all out at once. We’ll work at your pace, exploring the “shoulds” you’ve been carrying and building new ways of being that feel aligned, sustainable, and true to you.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I’m warm, grounded, and down-to-earth in session. I use curiosity, humility, and humor to help clients feel comfortable opening up—especially during vulnerable moments. You’ll find that I welcome feedback, check in often about how things feel for you, and honor your pace. My goal is to create a space that feels safe, supportive, and collaborative as we explore your story together.
