Getting to know Audra Callo

Ms. Audra Callo provides therapy to individuals and couples while supervised by Dr. Larissa Portnoff at New York Psychology Practice. She completed her master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from New York University to deliver comprehensive and effective mental health care. Ms. Callo addresses a variety of psychological issues, including anxiety, stress, anger, bipolar disorder, ADHD, and more. She employs evidence-based techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), tailoring them to meet her clients' unique needs. Creating a confidential environment, Ms. Callo helps clients openly discuss their challenges and guides them in developing effective coping strategies. Her goal is to improve clients' emotional health and overall well-being. Ms. Callo accepts most PPO insurance plans as an out-of-network provider and is in-network with select insurance providers. All psychological services are provided remotely via Telehealth.

What should a new client know about working with you?

I'm an objective listener and collaboratively provide a set of skills that can be used to help tackle a wide range of challenges, whether that's establishing better boundaries, learning to trust yourself and your decisions, examining emotional attachment patterns, or processing traumatic life events. Let's move the needle together!

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Therapy is most effective when we connect the dots between events and examine how our personalities and behavioral responses affect our well-being. It's critical to discuss issues that weigh us down the most and formulate a plan together that provides tools to improve coping, self-awareness, and regulation. My hope is that you leave each session feeling a little lighter.

Audra is kind, professional, insightful, and is great at giving me new ways to improve my current life and view my past. She is flexible to either offer structure, or allow a more open session with whatever is on my mind at the time. I feel comfortable sharing things with her without judgement. I find therapy with her very natural, and look forward to our sessions, even when discussing difficult topics. I feel that my wellbeing is being improved through this experience and I am very grateful.
I am very lucky to have found Audra through Zocdoc! Having seen a number of therapists, I cannot recommend her enough. As a therapist, she is exceptionally insightful, kind and warm. Her seessions have provided a safe space that allows me to work through difficult and deeply held emotions.
