Ayanna Obando, LMHC

Psychotherapist
NY
My name is Ayanna, and I'm a licensed psychotherapist based in Brooklyn, New York. I hold an MSEd in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from St. John's University. My clients often come to me with a history of trauma or adversity and a strong desire to process and understand how their past has shaped who they are today. They're motivated, insightful, eager to grow, and committed to learning the skills necessary for healthier relationships, better communication, and improved confidence. Through our work together, we begin to understand and develop the tools needed to manage anxiety and depressive symptoms that can sometimes be barriers to further growth. I aim to provide an empathetic and compassionate space where clients feel safe to open up and supported throughout their process. Utilizing a non-pathologizing and trauma-informed lens, I help clients create a cohesive narrative of their life experiences to empower them to build a life aligned with their goals and values. At the core of my work is the belief that a strong therapeutic connection is the foundation for successful treatment, allowing for personal growth, insight, and healing. Beginning therapy is not always easy, but we will always move at your pace as we work toward better days.

More information on payments and coverage

Payment is due after each session and will be charged with your card on file for any portion of patient responsibility. Receipts will be provided at the time of the charge. This typically takes place 2-4 weeks after the session, once your insurance has had a chance to process the claim. We try our best to verify eligibility, but it is ultimately your responsibility to check coverage and out-of-pocket costs for services. For out-of-network visits, you will be billed at the provider’s self-pay rate, and we can provide an invoice for you to submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement based on your plan’s benefits.
