What should a new client know about working with you?

You don’t need to have everything figured out before starting therapy with me. Many people come in unsure of how to explain what they’re feeling; they just know something isn’t working. That’s enough to begin. Clients often tell me they appreciate having a space where they don’t feel rushed, judged, or pushed to be somewhere they’re not. I work at your pace while also being honest and engaged in the process. I’ll help you understand patterns that may be keeping you stuck, while also supporting you in building healthier ways of coping and relating to yourself and others. My style is warm, thoughtful, and direct when it’s helpful. I care about creating a space where you feel safe enough to be real, but also supported enough to grow.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

We usually start by getting a sense of what’s bringing you in and what you’d like to feel different in your life. From there, we work together to understand the patterns, experiences, and stressors that may be contributing to what you’re going through. In sessions, we balance insight with action. That might look like exploring past experiences, noticing how things show up in your day-to-day life, and learning practical tools to manage anxiety, regulate emotions, or navigate relationships more effectively. I also incorporate mindfulness and body-based approaches when helpful, especially for stress and trauma. Between sessions, I may offer optional reflections or exercises to help you stay connected to the work in a way that feels manageable. Over time, the goal is for you to feel more grounded, more confident in yourself, and better equipped to handle what life brings.
