Hello, I'm Bennie. I believe in addressing the core issues rather than just the presenting symptoms. My approach is person-centered, direct, and honest, ensuring that I meet you where you are at the moment. I specialize in trauma, abuse, addictions, dual-diagnosis, psychosis, couples therapy, bipolar disorder, dissociative identity disorder (DID), anxiety, and depression. My therapeutic style is caring and person-centered, and I utilize a variety of modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Schema Therapy, Existential Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Person-Centered Therapy, Structural Therapy, and Internal Family Systems (IFS). I hold a Master's degree and am a Certified Addiction Specialist, Licensed Professional Counselor, Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, and Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I am currently continuing my post-doctoral studies in Neurobiology at Harvard. Additionally, I am licensed to practice in Virginia, Colorado, and Alaska. I also contribute to the field of psychology as an adjunct professor at Colorado Community Colleges, teaching courses in Abnormal Psychology, Introduction to Psychology, and Lifespan Psychology. On a personal note, I am 59 years old, married to a lovely Filipina, and we have two 24-year-old daughters, three dogs, and a ferret.
