Getting to know Bibhiam McKinney

I’m a Dominican-American Social Worker and founder of Beyond the Sesh, LLC. I earned my Bachelors in Psychology from Barry University and my Master’s in Social Work from The Catholic University of America. My work centers women of color navigating major life transitions, depression, anxiety, and the unique challenges of being first-generation. I know how heavy it can feel to carry the weight of expectations, navigate cultural identity, and figure out where you belong. In our work together, we’ll unpack those challenges, build on your strengths, and find a path forward that feels right for you. I also provide immigration evaluations, helping individuals and families tell their stories in a way that is thorough, compassionate, and aligned with legal requirements. Outside of therapy, I love working with up-and-coming social workers, helping therm refine their skills, build confidence, and prepare for independent licensure. Supervision isn’t just about checking a box—its about growing in the kind of clinician you want to be and I’m committed to supporting that journey. My approach is direct, humorous, affirming, and collaborative. I show up as my full self and create space for you to do the same.
