Welcome to therapy, and welcome to my page! I'm glad you're exploring and seeing who is a good fit for you. My approach is clinically casual, where it will feel like a conversation, collaboration, and identification of your needs without the pressure or scrutiny of a formal process. I may have a cat or two walk by, I will be dressed casually, and I will drink coffee during our sessions. If you are looking for a concrete or formalized approach with agendas, homework assigned every session, as well as an astutely professional status within each and every session, I am not your man!
To start, let's go over some of the essential but important details. I only offer video or phone sessions. There will be no exceptions for in-person requests, as I do not have a traditional office. If you request in-person, I will automatically decline your request. If you do not have an updated profile or billing information completed before requesting to see me, I will automatically decline your request.
If you are looking for a one-and-done Sleep Wake Disorder evaluation for treatment, I am happy to provide that. I also offer the gold standard of treatment for Sleep Wake Disorders called CBT-I.
If you are looking for a one-and-done CAPS-5 PTSD evaluation for insight and treatment, I am happy to provide that as well. This is the gold standard for PTSD evaluations, and I was trained by the VA.
If you are looking for a one-and-done initial or second opinion on a diagnosis, disorder, or treatment, I am happy to assist. I have ten years of experience as a specialized diagnostician, an integrative provider, a Fellow in Traumatology, and Diplomate status in co-occurring disorders.
I have 15 years of experience in therapy, diagnostics, authorships, presentations, and publications. Please utilize my knowledge, experience, and expertise so we can get you to where you want to be!
Some things I do not do, and I want you to be aware of them now so you can make an early decision. If you are unsure, I will gladly inform you of what and who to look for with these needs: ESA letters, ESA evaluations, custody, parenting, parenting evaluation, return-to-home children evaluation, children, teens, court, divorce, forensic evaluations, and professional witness. Again, I do not and will not do any of these categories or requests.
If you agree to an appointment and do not cancel or show within 24 hours of the appointment, I do charge for the full session due to the time and finances lost on my end.
I want to be as direct with my requirements as I can and upfront with you so you are not disappointed.
My ideal clientele: receptive to information, education, and change. Understanding that change can take time or be immediate. Not aggressive or threatening.
If seeking EMDR, I may require two back-to-back sessions for the full benefit of 90-minute sessions for an EMDR round; more time spent initially means less time spent overall, which means less money spent in the long run. This service requires you to have at least a large/widescreen computer screen, or a TV screen, and over-the-ear headphones.
Thank you for getting to the end here, and I hope we are a good fit for your everyday needs!
