“It's important to find a good mental health professional to work with, someone who really "gets" you. I'm fortunate to have found Birch. I don't feel comfortable opening up to too many people, but I feel comfortable with him. I look forward to our sessions. I can feel the shift in myself mentally and spiritually. ”

Getting to know Birch Cooper

Therapy is about change and growth, an endeavor that takes commitment and courage. Congratulations on taking the first step! I have personally benefited from therapy, so I understand both the benefits and the courage it takes to utilize introspection in order to grow. As an adolescent, I struggled with being different while attending a suburban high school in Ohio. Through the process of self-acceptance, my first experience with therapy allowed me to live authentically as a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community. I welcome all sexual and gender identities with unconditional acceptance of you being your authentic self, which is the cornerstone of my work with all clients. I hold a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling from The City College of New York and a Bachelor’s degree from the CUNY Baccalaureate for Unique and Interdisciplinary Studies. If you're looking for a therapist who can provide you with support as well as practical tools to help you grow into your fullest self, you've come to the right place. Thanks for considering the process of therapy—I look forward to hearing from you!
