Brittney Gibson, LCAT

Psychotherapist
NY
The path to healing is not an easy one to embark on. It can be scary; full of twists, turns, highs, and lows. I am here to walk with you as a fellow traveler, supporting your emotional healing and well-being with compassion and acceptance. As a trained Dance/Movement Psychotherapist and Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, I hold a Master’s degree in Dance and Movement Therapy from Sarah Lawrence College and a Bachelor’s degree from Texas State University. I utilize movement, mindfulness, breath work, and somatic practices to encompass the whole self in the therapeutic process. I strive to help individuals improve their quality of life through a trauma-informed, client-centered, strength-based approach rooted in psychodynamic theory. I will support your exploration of gaining deeper insight into your experiences, which can assist in developing and maintaining a healthier, stronger sense of self, as well as more meaningful relationships with others. As a Black cis-gendered woman raised in the South, I am passionate about creating safe spaces for Black, Indigenous, and people of color battling generational trauma, systemic racism, grief, loss, and oppression. I believe that by bringing more awareness to the mind, body, and spirit connection, we can learn from the past, honor the present, and embrace the future with renewed hope.
