It takes a lot of courage and vulnerability to reach out for help and for that I high-five you! Hello, I’m Cameron. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with six years of experience working in the mental health field. I earned my Masters of Science in Professional Counseling degree (2018) from Grand Canyon University. I have both individual and group counseling experience, predominantly within the Arizona Department of Corrections. Even though I have a lot of experience working with inmates, you do not need to be wearing orange for us to work together! Some issues I have worked with consistently over the years include mood disorders such as anxiety, depression, and bipolar disorder. I have experience assisting individuals in dealing with trauma and self-acceptance. I also have a growing awareness around adult ADHD. My approach is Person Centered (Rogerian Therapy) along with motivational interviewing and at times techniques from cognitive behavioral therapy, the Intimacy Cycle model, and mindfulness therapy as a supplement. This means that I meet you where you are at and I accept your experiences without judgment. I deeply believe we all have innate value (whether you already know it or not) and are attempting to live our best lives. I like to use humor, sometimes unusual analogies, challenging questions, and I take a direct approach because I think in counseling we should get to the point, and we should have fun doing it. I strive to build a safe relationship with you where I will be genuine, treat you with unconditional positive regard (no judgement), and empathy. I want to walk alongside you through your journey and help you create the change you are seeking in your life.
