Hello, I'm Cara, MSW, a Licensed Certified Social Worker-Clinical. My approach to therapy focuses heavily on building a genuine therapeutic relationship. I use a holistic, strengths-based, trauma-informed approach and tailor the modality of therapy to each client and their unique goals. Sometimes, the things that have helped us survive are not the things that will help us thrive. I work with people to lean more heavily on the behaviors that will help them thrive. I am deeply aware of the impact that transphobia, monosexism, homophobia, ableism, fatphobia, racism, classism, xenophobia, and the intersections between them can have on individuals and groups. My overall goal is for you to feel safe being yourself! I specialize in working with QTBIPoC, LGBTQIA+, BIPoC Veterans, and BIPoC individuals between the ages of 18 and 50. I base the therapeutic approaches that I use on each individual and what they need. I often use Attachment-Based Therapy, EMDR, Ecological Theory, and CBT, if these are a good fit for the people I am working with.
