Casey Ginsberg, SW, LMSW

Psychotherapist
MI
I’m Casey Ginsberg, LMSW, and I support older teens and adults through grief, caregiving, illness, aging, and other significant life transitions. Before becoming a therapist, I spent more than a decade as a hospice social worker, helping individuals and families navigate some of life’s most difficult moments. That experience shaped my understanding that grief is not limited to the death of a loved one. We may also grieve changes in our relationships, health, identity, careers, expectations, or the future we imagined. My approach is warm, compassionate, and collaborative. I provide a supportive, judgment-free space where you can feel heard, make sense of what you’re experiencing, and move forward at a pace that feels right for you. You don’t have to navigate it alone.

Getting to know Casey Ginsberg

What should a new client know about working with you?

You can expect a warm, compassionate, and collaborative approach. I understand that opening up—especially during grief or a major life transition—can feel difficult, so I work to create a supportive, judgment-free space where you can feel heard and understood. Our sessions will be tailored to your individual needs, goals, and pace. Together, we’ll explore what you’re experiencing, identify patterns and sources of support, and develop practical ways to cope and move forward. I won’t rush your process or tell you how you “should” feel. My role is to meet you where you are and help you navigate the path ahead.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

Our first session is a chance for us to get to know one another. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what you’re currently experiencing, and what you hope to gain from our work together. You’re welcome to share at a pace that feels comfortable. In ongoing sessions, we’ll check in, explore the challenges or changes you’re navigating, and identify patterns, strengths, and sources of support. We may also practice practical coping strategies you can use between sessions. We’ll regularly revisit your goals and adjust our approach as your needs evolve.
