Cathy Rousse, LICSW

Psychotherapist
VT
Hello, I'm Cathy. For over twenty years, I've had the privilege of helping individuals navigate life's unexpected challenges, whether it's the loss of a job, a marriage, a love, or a dream. As a solution-focused therapist, I incorporate a variety of modalities to align with each client's unique needs. My approach is holistic, recognizing the mind-body connection in the expression of pain, both mentally and physically. I firmly believe in the healing qualities of mindful connections, harmony with nature, the power of animals/pets, physical exercise, and, of course, talk therapy. I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker, with a major in psychology from Smith College and a master's in social work from Boston College. My career has taken me through various clinical settings, including community mental health, outpatient addiction programs, primary care settings, and for the last decade, an oncology center where I supported patients and their families through the emotional journey of cancer survivorship. Life can be incredibly difficult, and anxiety and depression often hijack our hopes and dreams. If you find yourself stuck, unable to move forward due to indecision, lack of confidence, anxiety, or depression, consider working with me. Together, we will identify and remove the barriers blocking your path to a more emotionally rewarding and satisfying life. I specialize in helping clients with addiction, anxiety, depression, family relationships, grief/bereavement, life transitions, intimate/romantic relationships, sex/intimacy issues, and medical issues/physical health. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, and develop strategies to overcome the challenges you face. If you're ready to take the first step towards a brighter future, I'm here to help. Let's work together to find the solutions that will lead you to a more fulfilling and balanced life.
