Psychotherapist
CO
Hello! I'm Charlotte, and I'm so glad you're here. You might be wondering, 'What is a somatic therapist?' Well, as a somatic therapist, I use a blend of top-down processing (cognition/thinking) and bottom-up interventions (bringing awareness to the body's responses and how they connect to our cognitive processes) to offer a more holistic approach to healing. This method is particularly effective when thinking alone hasn't changed behavior or when there's difficulty incorporating thinking skills and strategies we've learned. Somatic therapy is especially beneficial for those experiencing anxiety, trauma, PTSD, attachment wounds, or grief. It also supports individuals interested in transpersonal work or mindfulness skill-building. In addition to my training in Somatic Psychotherapy, I integrate Motivational Interviewing (MI) techniques to help unearth your intrinsic motivation to change. I also use EMDR to support the integration of traumatic memories and experiences, along with evidence-based strategies from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). My goal is to encourage awareness of Self while honoring your unique personal expression of healing, growth, and change. I moved to Colorado in 2015, but I'm originally from the East Coast. Outside of my work as a therapist, I'm a mother of two young men, a yoga and meditation teacher, and a medical referral personal trainer. I love to laugh, read, hike, snowboard, and continuously learn new things. If you're ready to embark on a journey of healing and self-discovery, I'm here to support you every step of the way. Let's work together to create the change you seek.
