Getting to know Cheri Rivera

Hello! I'm Cheri, and I'm here to help you navigate through life's challenges. Are you struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, or self-worth? Do you feel like you don't know where to start? I would love to help you explore different tools and strategies to address these issues and set goals to build the life you want for yourself. My goal is to meet clients where they are and work with them to develop the tools and confidence to tackle life’s hardships, such as trauma, divorce, major life changes, and other challenges that arise, including symptoms of mood disorders like depression, anxiety, and acute stress. I use a person-centered, humanistic approach, allowing you to be the expert on your life by exploring your feelings and solidifying your sense of self. I will often use tools and strategies from other approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and others as necessary based on your needs. I hold an MA and am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Licensed Professional Counselor. Counseling is my calling. I have always wanted to be in a helping profession and to make a positive impact on the world. I have gone through my own number of hardships, and I know how powerful the therapeutic relationship can be when you feel like you are lost and alone. I want you to know that you are not alone on this journey. Together we can develop a plan to get you back on track and work through some of the things that may be getting in the way of you having a happier and healthier life.
