Getting to know Cheyenne Lewis

I believe therapy should be a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. Using a strengths-based and solution-focused approach, my goal is to ensure you feel valued, heard, and supported through life's challenges-no matter the circumstances. I'm committed to building a trusting, compassionate therapeutic relationship and walking alongside you every step of the way. As a Black woman therapist, I understand how important it is to feel truly seen-not just as an individual, but within the context of culture, identity, and lived experience. I strive to create an inclusive space where people from all backgrounds feel respected and understood. I use evidence-based practices like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Motivational Interviewing. I have experience working with individuals managing anxiety, depression, ADHD, bipolar disorder, trauma, and adjustment-related concerns. I also support clients navigating identity exploration, family issues, social stressors, and self-esteem struggles. I earned my Bachelor's and Master's in Social Work from Binghamton University, which has equipped me with a strong foundation to provide effective and empathetic care. Therapy can be a vulnerable experience, and the relationship you build with your therapist is extremely important. If you're curious about working together, feel free to reach out-I'd be honored to join you in this process!

What should a new client know about working with you?

** Initial appointments are free consultation phone calls with our intake coordinator. On that call, you’ll be able to go over insurance details and get answers to any questions you have. If it feels like a great fit, the intake coordinator will get you scheduled for your first therapy appointment while you’re on the call. ** I approach my work as a compassionate and client-centered therapist. I earned my Master’s degree in Social Work from Binghamton University, and I provide both in person and virtual mental health services. I specialize in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a variety of mental health concerns in a supportive, confidential setting. I emphasize creating a safe and inclusive environment where clients feel heard, understood, and empowered to work through life’s challenges. With a warm and collaborative approach, I work closely with individuals to develop personalized treatment plans that reflect their strengths, cultural identities, and unique goals. My experience includes supporting clients dealing with anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, life transitions, and self-esteem issues.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

** Initial appointments are free consultation phone calls with our intake coordinator. On that call, you’ll be able to go over insurance details and get answers to any questions you have. If it feels like a great fit, the intake coordinator will get you scheduled for your first therapy appointment while you’re on the call. ** I engage therapy through a collaborative approach with my clients. I like to start by getting to know you and creating a space where you feel comfortable, heard, and not judged. The first few sessions are all about understanding what’s going on in your life, what’s bringing you into therapy along with what you hope to gain from the experience. From there, we can work together to explore ways to move through the difficulties you are facing. I pull from different approaches to taylor our work so it's the right fit for you. I check in regularly to make sure things are working for you and adjust as we go. My goal is to support you in feeling more grounded, confident, and connected to yourself, at whatever pace is needed.
