Getting to know Christina Cunningham

I am dually licensed as a Clinical Social Worker and Addiction Counselor, holding a Master’s in Social Work from Illinois State University. I have 11 years of experience as a master’s-level therapist addressing a variety of mental health concerns and substance use disorders. My experience includes outpatient therapy, inpatient/residential treatment, and community-based services. I have advanced training in treating trauma, including the modalities of EMDR and CPT. Other areas I am trained in include military and veteran culture and biofeedback as a Certified HeartMath Practitioner. I am also an Acupuncture Detoxification Specialist, providing ear acupuncture. I have studied the work of Elaine Aron, Ph.D., on “The Highly Sensitive Person,” also known as sensory processing sensitivity. I consider myself to be a highly sensitive person and enjoy being the therapist who helps highly sensitive clients along their journeys. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, yoga, meditation, and exploring a variety of music genres.
