Being unique and different is an integral part of human life, which is why Corrada’s foundation in therapy is not a “one size fits all” approach. Instead, she looks at each client with an open mind and heart, paying special attention to their needs and goals. Corrada incorporates a combination of psychotherapeutic and humanistic approaches, such as Motivational Therapy, creating a space of empowerment, ambition, and confidence. Unique to each client, Corrada helps them articulate emotions, feelings, and concerns to reach their goals and attain healthier mental well-being. Born into an immigrant family and a native New Yorker, Corrada is no stranger to difference. She earned her Bachelor’s in Forensic Psychology and Master’s in Forensic Mental Health Counseling from City University of New York, John Jay College of Criminal Justice. During college, Corrada was a member of Psi Chi, the international honor society for psychology, and participated in research on gender differences. She has clinical experience working with juvenile and adult sexual offender populations. Her time at John Jay inspired her interests in gender roles and multiculturalism and their impacts on relationships, self-image, society, professional settings, and the criminal justice system. Corrada strongly believes in breaking the stigma around mental health and illness, a main reason she pursued a career as a mental health professional. Through her experience, she has learned that no matter what happened in the past, you always have the opportunity to rise and begin again.
