Getting to know Courtney Bouchard

I tailor my approach according to each individual's needs. Need concrete change? Let's find the tools to do that. Need a safe space to process your feelings? I can offer you positive regard and empathetic understanding. I combine art therapy and psychotherapy to help individuals overcome mental challenges through a compassionate and solution-oriented approach. I enjoy working with adults and young adults struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, relationship issues, ADHD, and low self-esteem. Throughout my experience, I have developed an active and collaborative approach to therapy with my clients. Not only do I offer an empathetic ear—I work with clients to find solutions to real-time problems they are facing through evidence-based approaches like Art Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I pride myself on assisting my clients to find acceptance in things they cannot change, to find autonomy in challenges, and to create meaning in their lives. I hold a Master’s in Professional Studies from Pratt Institute, which has enriched my ability to integrate creative and therapeutic techniques effectively. I look forward to helping you on your journey toward a healthier mind and lifestyle!

What should a new client know about working with you?

Here are some areas I have helped my patients navigate: Anxiety Depression ADHD Stress Grief Life Transitions Relationship Issues Autism Social Anxiety Everyone will face mental health challenges at some point in their lives. I consider it a part of my job to normalize this. Why? Because it is a natural part of the human experience and not something we should hide or deal with on our own. ? Some of these issues arise from circumstance such as stress or grief. Some stem from our past experiences or trauma. Some come from being neurodivergent in a world designed for neurotypicals. I'm here to help you access the roots of your struggles and develop ways to cope, ways to accept, and ways to learn from them.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I tailor my approach according to each individual's needs. Need concrete change? Let's find the tools to do that. Need a safe space to process your feelings? Art Therapy to express emotions in a nonverbal way, to practice mindfulness, and as a healthy outlet for our feelings. Courtney is so wonderful! Seeing her is my first talk therapy experience and it’s been really positive and helpful to speak to someone who listens in a judgement free environment. She is kind, supportive and a great listener.
I connected with Courtney right away. She has a calming energy and really listens to what you are saying. I have been seeing her for quite some time and look forward to our sessions. She has guided me and helped to make sense of previous traumas and how to navigate through it. She uses many different therapy techniques in her sessions and is always respectful of your time. I would highly recommend her as a therapist. She has helped me and friends tremendously.
Courtney is an excellent listener and creates a calm atmosphere for expressing yourself. She's guided me through extremely difficult periods by encouraging self-reflection and positive thinking. I've learned more about myself, and how to overcome my own struggles all thanks to her. Highly recommended.
I've been working with Courtney for just over a year now and she is truly excellent. She can take in what always seems like a huge amount of information and organize our sessions into whatever approaches are most helpful. She is calm, kind, communicative, and punctual. I'm a musician on a long mental health journey, and I was hoping to find a practitioner who could help me across multiple modalities including art therapy, since different conditions and medications can make creativity feel like a moving target. That’s a tall order, but Courtney ticks all the boxes, and I am personally and professionally way better off now for it.
Fantastic therapist. She's been so helpful
