Courtney Jacobson, LCSW

Psychotherapist
NY
As a therapist, I strive to provide a safe space where my clients feel supported and comfortable. I believe a therapist should be non-judgmental, so I do my best to be open, honest, and sincere with all of my clients, as I feel this helps build a strong therapeutic relationship. I use a collaborative approach that incorporates the strengths, skills, and interests of my clients into their treatment. Additionally, I take an integrative approach by combining aspects of several therapeutic modalities to best meet the needs of each individual. By being flexible in my approach, I can best support the client as a whole. My ultimate goal is for my clients to leave therapy feeling a new sense of empowerment in their ability to cope with life’s challenges. I earned my Bachelor’s and Master’s in Social Work from the State University of New York, Stony Brook. Soon after, I began my career providing group and individual therapy to clients with anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, substance abuse, addiction, thought disorders, and personality disorders. I have provided therapeutic services in both outpatient day programs and private practice. While I have experience working with individuals aged 6 and up, I have found my passion lies in working with young adults. I currently practice as an LCSW in New York State. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, watching movies, and participating in barre classes. I also really enjoy crafting as a way to relieve stress and gain a sense of accomplishment!
