Getting to know Courtney Kersten

Hello, I'm Courtney. It is my priority to build a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship and utilize that space to unpack, explore, understand, and heal trauma. I pull techniques from multiple disciplines to meet clients where they are in their healing journeys. It is my intention to be adaptive to clients' needs. My approach is client-centered, trauma-informed, experiential, and attachment-based. I have had the privilege of working with a varied therapy population in a variety of settings, from acute inpatient to substance rehab programs to community mental health centers to autism support outpatient, with ages ranging from 3 to 80. I view the therapeutic space as sacred and consider it an honor to walk beside clients as they grow and heal. My specialties include anxiety, ADHD, autism spectrum support, children's mental and behavioral health, adolescent and teen mental and behavioral health, depression, dissociative disorders, grief and bereavement, LGBTQIA+ support, PTSD, stress, suicidal ideation and self-harming, and trauma. I also offer SonderMind Video Telehealth for those who prefer or require remote sessions. I believe in creating a therapeutic environment that is both supportive and empowering, helping clients to navigate their unique challenges and achieve their personal goals.
