What should a new client know about working with you?

I am a licensed clinical social worker with over 11 years of experience as a therapist. I am bilingual in English and Spanish and use many therapeutic modalities in my work but mostly use cognitive behavioral therapy with a mindful and trauma-focused perspective. I always start each session with a client-centered, judgment-free focus. The goal of every session is that you will process some difficult stuff, laugh a little, and have clear cut plan to use until the next session. Finally, I believe my job is to help you obtain individual growth and skills so that you no longer need me (but maybe like holding onto me as a resource).

What is your typical process for working with clients?

I first complete an intake to identify client strengths, needs, supports, and therapy goals. I then work with the client to come up with a plan for achieving those goals and also to ensure that my services are the right support for the individual's needs.
