What should a new client know about working with you?

Crystal’s style includes person centered, strength based and a whole person approach exploring current struggles or symptoms along with exploring the originating source of the issue of concern in a gentle safe environment. Crystal incorporates play therapy, self care, mindfulness, grounding, exploring negative beliefs and cognitions, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and talk therapy while instilling hope into sessions. Crystal aims to hold space for the whole person to build resilience and strength, promote healing, teach resourcefulness, and find clarity to reach your personal goals. Crystal offers a calm, collaborative and gentle but direct approach. She is always expanding on her knowledge and values new approaches and modalities of therapy to advantage her clients in new developments in mental health care, multiple options of treatment and self improvement. Crystal believes that therapy should be tailored to each individual's needs as each person is unique and should be valued as such. In her spare time enjoys playing with her dogs, hiking, swimming, grilling, cooking, reading, gardening, exploring new nature sites, and listening to music (with a little singing and dancing to the music at times).

Challenge the negative self-narratives by changing negative self-beliefs rooted in past trauma. Separate identity from experiences while fostering resilience. Building positive connections and relationships while healing from past experiences. Psychoeducation, through videos, reading, and worksheets may be implemented. Exploring what makes you who you are and identifying the variety of puzzle pieces that when they come to gather to make the whole you. Learning how thoughts/beliefs, emotions and behaviors/actions are all interconnected and how we can learn to change the outcome.
