What should a new client know about working with you?

** Initial appointments are free consultation phone calls with our intake coordinator. On that call, you’ll be able to go over insurance details and get answers to any questions you have. If it feels like a great fit, the intake coordinator will get you scheduled for your first therapy appointment while you’re on the call. ** In addition to providing psychotherapy, Curtis has served as a Clinical Supervisor and Clinical Director for city agencies and community health centers and has consulted with organizations serving underserved communities.

What is your typical process for working with clients?

His approach is person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive, recognizing that each person’s experiences, identity, and environment shape how they move through the world. Curtis believes therapy should be collaborative and empowering, helping clients build insight, resilience, and a greater sense of control in their lives. Curtis utilizes evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Narrative Therapy. These approaches can help clients manage anxiety and stress, improve emotional regulation, strengthen relationships, challenge negative thinking patterns, process difficult experiences, and develop healthier coping strategies that support lasting change.
